Many/most of you should have received your drēmtrigger by now and for that....I am unbelievably grateful for you all to have stuck around this long!

It was a WAY harder and longer journey than I ever anticipated and I'm excited to continue pushing ahead with supporting/enhancing Drēmtrigger and any other products that may come our way!

Hey all!

As many of you may know, we have passed our FCC test! This allowed us to assemble units and get them ready for fulfillment! We're well underway on this and just waiting for our custom foam inserts that will keep your DrēmTrigger safe during it's travels to you!

We are going to be fulfilling orders over the next couple weeks in batches in the order they were received (we are a small team and are doing this by hand, so we'll get these out as early as our big hands can move!). 

A couple important things:

Hello All!

As you've likely been seeing, there's been a lot more activity on our social media side of things lately! I realize it's been a long time since our last update and we're excited to finally be at this final stage of getting our first product out the door to you all! 

I want to share with you some good news that has happened in the last couple weeks/months!

  • Tooling is 100% complete! - As you may remember, DT is NOT plastic, it's metal and to make a metal product economically; we decided to make a die-cast which injects molten metal into a mold and comes out nearly perfect. The "problem" is that these molds are extremely expensive and lengthy to tool depending on complexity of the part. So we are OVER the tooling hump and have received samples from the manufacturer and they look beautiful! 
  • Pads and Adhesive - We had been waiting to be able to test the pads on the top for some time now and there were several reasons why there was delay in that. Mainly, we needed a pad to strike and we needed the tooling to be complete before we could strike it. So since we received samples, I was able to test for the very first time last week these pads and without any configurations or tuning to the settings, the pads performed incredibly well! I will be making some tweaks still to prevent some occasional double-fires; but overall, I'm extremely pleased with the results. As it comes to the matter of adhesive (I know I might be getting in the weeds), but to keep the slim(ish) profile of DT, we decided to go with an adhesive bond for the pad and the sensor underneath. I've always skeptical of this method, because let's real, we're all hard hitters and I don't want a single trigger coming back because some tape lost it's strength. But let me tell you....this is no mama-boys tape....this is highly industrial strength adhesive that will last ages. When I got to test it this last week, I was blown away at how well it held and I've not had a single doubt in my mind about it. This is good news!
  • Software - this is certainly my weakest area to speak about, but software that works WITH hardware is apparently easier said than done. There were tons of back-end things that needed to be completed on the hardware before the software could get finished; and as of last week, the hardware documentation was completed so that our software could be wrapped up and finalized! All good news! Something I will mention on this side of things is that because our focus has been so much more on hardware that we decided our software is going to seem pretty bare at first. You will still be able to adjust settings, create scenes...etc. but it's not going to have all the bells and whistles from the start that we were hoping for. The plan is to ship DT with software that "gets the job done" and to release updates over the following months. *side note* I'm not saying our software looks bad....it's just....minimalistic 

So let's chat about shipping....

This has been the question of the last....3 years *hangs head low while wiping away a tear*. There are around 8 pieces that make up DT and they all have varying production lead times. At this point, we are seeing some lead times for parts getting here early July and others Mid-late July. This is the extremely critical AND expensive phase that we are in; and we cannot rush or cut corners at this time to try and get things sooner. It's been taking everything in me to not rush and to focus on making sure we do this right (as one mistake here can cause 6-12 week delays and lots of cash). However! our team, friends and families are ecstatic to start assembling DT's as soon as all the parts arrive near the end of July.

Things we could use help with

  • Pre-DT Social Media - From now until we ship, I'm putting a lot of effort into putting more videos, blogs, pictures out on social media to attempt and get people aware of DT again. We certainly have lost some steam in social media world and we're looking to pick things back up. Some practical things that would help: Liking, commenting, engaging with our content will tell Instagram and Facebook that people like my stuff and they will "boost" it to more people. Even if you've seen it a hundred times, a simple "like" goes a long way. Reshare's, mentions, Tagging others is another way that will help spread the message of DT. 
  • Post-DT Social Media - The moment you all receive your DT's, we're hoping you'll be excited! Posting unboxing videos, demo's and covers while also tagging us will hopefully drive a lot of traffic to our site. We are withholding selling DT's on our site for a few weeks after Kickstarter backers receive their units; because we want to (a) give you first crack and (b) get feedback from a wider audience. This will help us prepare ourselves appropriately.
